The Separation

You know what is painful about leaving?

It is not the leaving itself, but it is the time before the leaving. You know fully well that you are going to leave the people you bonded with, from the family you love, and from the place you made a lot of memories. You cannot help but keep reminiscing about the first day you came to the place, about the first time you met certain people and the first impression you had on those people, about how innocent and unfamiliar you were in the situations, and about the time you spent with those people. You become afraid that you did not spend the time well there. You mind is full of those memories, and you become so depressed, but you cannot do anything other than going with the flow of time and then… you leave.

Nevertheless, the place you are leaving for might become another great chapter of your life. You will create a lot of meaningful moments there. You will let more people into your life. Of course, every encounter ends up in separation, but every separation leads to a new encounter. Because there is separation, we try to make every encounter worthwhile.

This article is just my coping mechanism for my upcoming departure from my home country, but I hope it is relatable or valuable for some of you.

How about you? How do you view separation? And how do you deal with it?
